About the Author

Eric Owuor Okello

He did not set out to write a book. He set out to survive a season.

Eric Owuor Okello is a software entrepreneur and founder of Lionsoft Limited, based in Nairobi, Kenya. His faith journey began at a school in Uganda when a visiting pastor gave an altar call — and Eric responded three times, not knowing once was enough.

Not long after, with the support of his parents Clifford and Jacqueline, he printed T-shirts bearing James 4:7 — “Submit yourselves therefore to God” — for his school’s Christian Union. It was a fitting beginning for a man whose life would be shaped, again and again, by what genuine submission to God looks like when everything else is falling apart.

He later pastored a small congregation in Nairobi. He is the father of Erica Enzi Owuor, to whom this book is dedicated. He wants every reader to know one thing: time alone with God is never in vain.
